"Don't judge a book by its cover " IS OUT....

Staging can apply to any house, condo, co-op, or apartment owned by you or a client. When staging, looks are everything! When it comes to real estate, the old adage "don't judge a book by its cover" is out. Even before a potential buyer enters your home, they have formed an impression of your property. And once they’ve done so, it’s pretty hard to shift.

If you approach the front door of a home and along the way have seen various piles of dump worthy items strewn around the yard, you form an impression that tells you that the owner might not be good at maintaining this property. You might go farther and think—what does this mean for the inside? The pipes, the electrical system, the roof?

A lack of curb appeal can kill the prospects of selling a home well. Conversely, having good curb appeal can really entice potential buyers to come inside with a positive attitude and a pleasant sense of anticipation. If your outside is in poor shape but the interior is good, the money spent on the interior might go to waste. A poorly maintained exterior can color the whole home red.
